Mt. Zion Baptist Church is excited to welcome children, youth, adults, families, and volunteers to Vacation Bible School 2026! Our theme, “Hooked! Reeled In to Serve God,” is designed to help participants grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ while enjoying a fun-filled week of biblical learning, worship, crafts, games, fellowship, and community.

When is Vacation Bible School?

Vacation Bible School will be held July 27–31, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM daily.

Where is VBS located?

All VBS activities will take place at:

Mt. Zion Baptist Church Multipurpose Building
2511 W. 30th Street
Zion, Illinois 60099

Who can attend?

We offer classes and activities for all ages:

  • Toddlers through Age 4
  • Kindergarten – 1st Grade
  • 2nd – 3rd Grade
  • 4th – 6th Grade
  • 7th – 8th Grade
  • 9th – 12th Grade
  • Adult Classes

Whether you are a child, teenager, parent, grandparent, or community member, there is a place for you at VBS.

Is there a cost to attend?

No. Vacation Bible School is provided free of charge.

Is lunch provided?

Yes. Lunch will be provided daily for all registered participants.

What activities can participants expect?

Throughout the week, participants will experience:

  • Dynamic Bible lessons
  • Worship and praise
  • Interactive activities
  • Age-appropriate classes
  • Arts and crafts
  • Recreation and games
  • Fellowship opportunities
  • Special events and surprises throughout the week

Our goal is to create an environment where participants can learn God’s Word, build friendships, and strengthen their faith.

Do I need to register?

Yes. Registration is required for all participants.

Registration Deadline: July 10, 2026

We encourage families to register early to help us prepare materials, classroom assignments, and meals.

How do I register?

What information will I need to provide?

Parents and guardians will be asked to provide:

  • Participant information
  • Emergency contact information
  • Medical information
  • Allergy and dietary information
  • Authorized pickup information
  • Required consent forms

Providing complete and accurate information helps us maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Will photos or videos be taken?

Yes. During VBS, photos and videos may be taken for ministry, promotional, website, and social media purposes. Parents will have the opportunity to review and authorize this through the registration process.

Is there a special event at the end of the week?

Yes! Vacation Bible School will conclude with a special Friday Night Worship Celebration on July 31 at 6:00 PM.

  • An opportunity for participants to share what they learned
  • A time of worship and fellowship for the entire community

Can I volunteer for VBS?

Absolutely! We welcome individuals who have a heart for serving and helping others grow in their faith.

What is the minimum age to volunteer?

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

What volunteer opportunities are available?

Can I serve in more than one area?

Yes. Volunteers may select multiple ministry areas based on their interests and availability.

Do I have to serve every day?

No. Volunteers may choose which days they are available to serve. However, volunteers should plan to serve the entire VBS day on the days they select.

Is training required?

Volunteers will receive communication and instructions from ministry leadership before the start of VBS to help prepare them for a successful week of service.

Is lunch provided for volunteers?

Yes. Lunch will be provided each day for volunteers serving during VBS.

What is the volunteer registration deadline?

Volunteer registration closes on July 3, 2026.
